SAVE THE DATE: April 17, 2008

Save the Date, April 17, 2008, for the 2008 Book & Author Luncheon featuring guest speaker, Dr. William T. Close, author of the bestselling novel, "Ebola: Through the Eyes of the People."

Dr. Close is widely heralded for his valuable contribution to the world's understanding of the deadly virus Ebola. A long time resident of Big Piney, Wyoming, Dr. Close recently published "Beyond the Storm", an account of his 16 years of practicing medicine in the Congo. Actress Glenn Close, the author's daughter, says of her father's latest book: "My father used his passion and gift for medicine to make a difference during the post independence chaos of an emerging African state and in the years that followed. [This is] a unique story told by a unique man." Dr. Close's other books include "A Doctor's Life" and "Subversion of Trust".

Coe expansion groundbreaking ceremony 2007 image

Ground Breaking Ceremony

University Libraries celebrated the ground breaking for the new addition to William Robertson Coe Library on October 5, 2007. Members of the University of Wyoming Board Of Trustees and UW President Tom Buchanan, joined Dean Maggie Farrell to celebrate this monumental event at William Robertson Coe Library.

Homecoming 2007

University Libraries joined alumni to celebrate the 50th Class Reunion at William Robertson Coe Library. Dean Maggie Farrell talked with alumni at a Welcome to Campus talk in William Robertson Coe Library.

Alumni and friends had an opportunity to learn more about the new addition to William Robertson Coe Library and about how they can help support the Class Book Endowment fund.

In addition, Alumni and friends gathered on the porch of Coe Library for Library Libations; where fresh coffee, cocoa, and cookies were served up prior to and after the UW Homecoming Parade. University Libraries also participated in the Homecoming Parade and took Grand Award for Most Outstanding Float in the Homecoming Parade.
