The Brand Book was produced quarterly by the Wyoming Posse of the Westerners, a group of non-historians interested in Western history. It was originally produced by ditto and later by mimeograph in Laramie, WY, the last issue included an example of barbed wire. The magazine lasted for a total of two volumes, eight issues, before it ceased.
