Teton

| Summary: |
Initially a semiannual, regional magazine published in Jackson, WY called Teton Magazine, this glossy magazine added color photography on the inside in 1970. It became an annual publication in 1973-74 (even called itself Teton Annual that year) and added the beautiful Teton Gallery photography section (which is not indexed). The title became Teton: The Magazine of Jackson Hole, Wyoming in 1974-75. The Visitor Guide section (listing motels, attractions, etc.) was dropped in 1978. Issues consisted of 4-7 illustrated articles on the region primarily by talented local writers (often excerpted from existing or forthcoming books), and numerous advertisements. It tended to promote books, particularly those available from Gene Downer's, the editor, Teton Bookshop. Nothing was published in 1983. The fifteenth anniversary issue (v. 16, 1984) was a reprint of earlier articles. In 1988, the subtitle changed to "The Historical Magazine of Jackson Hole Wyoming." It was still advertising in 1991 and left one story to be continued when it apparently ceased publication.
