Nursing

The Fay W. Whitney School of Nursing promotes excellence in professional nursing for diverse populations, with an emphasis in rural health, through education, scholarship, outreach, and service.

This resource guide is a pathfinder to assist in locating materials within the University of Wyoming Libraries and to provide links to web sites relevent to pharmacy and pharmacology.

National Ethics Center for Bioethics Literature
"The Ethics Library was established at the Kennedy Institute of Ethics in 1973 with funding from the Joseph P. Evidence Based Nursing
Maintained by the Health Sciences Library at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. "The goal of this website is the investigation of the field of Evidence Based Nursing. Literature searching and web searching was conducted to discover useful articles and web resources about evidence based practice targeted for nursing professionals and students."

Evidence Based Practice
Part of the massive AHRQ web site. "The EPCs develop evidence reports and technology assessments based on rigorous, comprehensive syntheses and analyses of the scientific literature on topics relevant to clinical, social science/behavioral, economic, and other health care organization and delivery issues. EPC reports and assessments emphasize explicit and detailed documentation of methods, rationale, and assumptions. These scientific syntheses may include meta-analyses and cost analyses. All EPCs collaborate with other medical and research organizations so that a broad range of experts is included in the development process. The resulting evidence reports and technology assessments are used by Federal and State agencies, private sector professional societies, health delivery systems, providers, payers, and others committed to evidence-based health care."

National Guideline Clearinghouse
"The National Guideline Clearinghouse" (NGC) is a comprehensive database of evidence-based clinical practice guidelines and related documents. NGC is an initiative of the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ), U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. NGC was originally created by AHRQ in partnership with the American Medical Association and the American Association of Health Plans (now America's Health Insurance Plans [AHIP])."

Virginia Henderson International Nursing Library
"The Virginia Henderson International Nursing Library is the realization of Sigma Theta Tau Internationals goal to offer nurses, in all roles around the globe, online access to reliable nursing information that can be easily utilized and shared. Native American Ethnobotany
Maintained by the University of Michigan, Dearborn, this searchable database contains information on the foods, drugs, dyes and fibers that are derived from plants and used by American Indians. Bibliographic citations include references to books and journal articles that may not be cited in other databases. Plant names provide links to the Plants National Database, which contains photos and additional information about the plant.

National Center for Complimentary and Alternative Medicine
