the course: Visual Literacy for Life and Learning (ITEC 1000) | |
rationaleITEC 1000 was added to the UW curriculum in Fall 2003. Dr. Landra Rezabek, longtime proponent of visual literacy, developed the course not only to introduce visual literacy concepts to students, but also to meet the University's newly added information literacy requirement. Dr. Rezabek has collaborated with education librarian Cheryl Goldenstein to develop learning activities with knowledge, skill, and attitudinal outcomes necessary for the literate use of information and visuals in today's visually-oriented, information-rich environment. The course is offered through the College of Education. It is not required for pre-service teachers, but many of the students who enroll are education majors. Dr. Steve Aagard currently teaches the course. | ![]() http://uwadmnweb.uwyo.edu/unst/Information_Literacy_(L).htm |
